Resumo: As trajetórias múltiplas e heterogêneas de jovens envolvidos no tráfico de drogas e em grupos armados em favelas do Rio de Janeiro são objeto do artigo. São apresentados resultados de pesquisas quantitativas realizadas com jovens da cidade e pesquisas qualitativas com jovens de favelas. O artigo discute as mudanças recentes ocorridas na cidade, com a crise do mercado de drogas e a implantação de Unidades de Polícia Pacificadora. A autora propõe que é necessário compreender os percursos de jovens que entram e saem do tráfico de drogas à luz das teorias contemporâneas sobre trajetórias juvenis.
Abstract: The subjects of this article are the multiples and heterogeneous trajectories of young people involved in drug trafficking and armed groups in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. Results of quantitative research conducted with young people of the city are discussed and qualitative research from the favelas are analyzed. The article discusses the recent changes in the city, with the crisis of the drug market and the creation of the Pacification Police Units. The author proposes that it is necessary to understand the pathways of young people in and out of drug trafficking in the light of contemporary theories of youth life trajectories.
